It is designed with teachers in mind foremost, with tools for teachers to manage the students and the content in the discussion.There is a free version and a payed version.Interesting for formative assessment. In it, you can evaluate your students through conversations and also have more autonomy during the online process, as the tool offers total control of the room, being possible to block and add content. Any class discussion could begin virtually in Backchannel Chat before the teacher holds a traditional discussion in class. This preparation can get students more comfortable speaking in front of the group. Holding this chat prior to in-class discussion also allows teachers to review the chat log and pick out particularly good insights to elaborate later in the classroom. Teachers can moderate discussions, remove messages, “lock” the chat at any time, embed youtube videos, Flickr photos, etc. directly in the chat space. The site also has a profanity filter and offers a web-based transcript of all chats for teachers and students to review. It is possible for teachers to determine student participation, as the tools break down the number of posts per student.
