Automation in education: Through automation, teachers can have a permanent record of all graded assignments in an electronic format. This allows students to access their grades at any given point during the school year without having to ask for them multiple times or go into an administrator’s office if they need another copy.

Blog: A regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style.

Cloud computing:the practice of using a network of remote servers hosted on the internet to store, manage, and process data, rather than a local server or a personal computer.

Content management system: A content management system (CMS) is computer software used to manage the creation and modification of digital content (content management).

eAssessment: Electronic assessment, also known as digital assessment, eAassessment, online assessment, or computer-based assessment, is the use of information technology in assessment in education.

edtech: EdTech (a combination of “education” and “technology”) refers to hardware and software designed to enhance learning and improve students’ education outcomes.

e-portfolio: An ePortfolio is a collection of work (evidence) in an electronic format that showcases learning over time. When you think about your e-Portfolio and the types of evidence that it contains, it is important to think carefully about its purpose and intended audience.

Forum: A website or web page where users can post comments about a particular issue or topic and reply to other users’ postings.

H5P:  H5P is a free plugin tool (open technology) that helps produce and run interactive content and video within a LMS, or other kinds of eLearning browser. H5P enables educators to create interactive learning activities such as videos, presentations, quizzes, timelines and others.

Individualization in education: is a method of instruction in which there is one-to-one teaching and self-paced learning based on an outline of progressive goals leading to the course/curriculum objectives. 

LMS platform = A learning management system (LMS) is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting, automation, and delivery of educational courses, training programs, or learning and development programs.

Moodle: a popular Open Source Learning Management System. Moodle stands for “Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment”. 

Open-source software: Open-source software is code that is designed to be publicly accessible—anyone can see, modify, and distribute the code as they see fit. Open-source software is developed in a decentralised and collaborative way, relying on peer review and community production.

Resource facilitation: Resource facilitation is a partnership that helps individuals and communities choose, get, and keep information, services and supports to make informed choices and meet their goals.

Rubric: a title or set of instructions written in a book, an exam paper, etc.

Validity: the state of being logical and true.

Video streaming: Video streaming is a continuous transmission of video files from a server to a client. Video streaming enables users to view videos online without having to download them. Streamed video content can include movies, TV shows, YouTube videos and live streamed content.

Virtual classroom: A virtual classroom is an online learning environment. The environment can be web-based and accessed through a portal or software-based and require a downloadable executable file.

Virtual room: A virtual room is an online meeting space where multiple participants from different locations collaborate through a video conference call. These rooms allow an organiser to host a real-time, face-to-face virtual meeting with remote attendees, and only require a webcam and a browser.

Vlog: A personal website or social media account where a person regularly posts short videos.

Voice over internet protocols (VoIP): Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), also called IP telephony, is a method and group of technologies for the delivery of voice communications and multimedia sessions over Internet Protocol (IP) networks, such as the Internet.

Wiki: A website or database developed collaboratively by a community of users, allowing any user to add and edit content.
